My family's first flight to Wakkanai aboard an Air America DC-6 like this one, was a no-go. We returned to Misawa Air Base for a two-day layover until we could hitch a ride on an inbound C-130. The C-130 has reversible props and can stop where the DC-6, we were told, might just slide into the ocean. Photo of this Air America aircraft was taken at Tachikawa Air Base.
