James Hamilton sent this photo which he took when he spent 30 days at Wakkanai back in July of 1988 working on all those antennas. He was doing a TDY with the 1837 EIS from Yokota AB, Japan. He observed that one thing he noticed from looking at the photos on our website was
the cylinder shaped towers. When he was there they weren't covered with that white material. Those had been totally removed, which made it tough with all that wind. Plus, all the radomes had been painted with a light green paint.
