Soon after their arrival at WAS, Walt Peik and Lloyd Swanburg, teachers, visited this temple. Met by two monks there, all sat and talked about the current arrival of American families to the WAS. The monks were very interested, and served sake to keep the conversation flowing. Walt and Lloyd didn't really notice how potent the drink was, until they stood up to leave. It was their first experience with drinking sake, and they were relieved that the school year had not yet begun.
