In 1963-64 the little building on the left was used as our US Post Office. It perplexed the staff there when Lloyd Swanburg sent mail to the post office in Moscow, Russia, to further a stamp collecting interest for his students. The mail went through (happily not without question), and there was a positive response sent from Moscow! Wasn't this a contradiction for the times? Oddly, Lloyd's 8th grade daughter later visited Moscow, in 1993, as part of the People To People Program, first initiated by Pres. Eisenhower; a student ambassador program.
